Accessing MGS Services Through the SBA 8(a) Program

Federal agencies can work directly with MGS under the SBA 8(a) program using either set-aside or sole-source contracting methods. These pathways significantly reduce procurement timelines, cut administrative costs, and allow projects to launch in days instead of months.

Advantages of Using an 8(a) Sole-Source Contract

How to Award MGS an 8(a) Sole-Source Contract

Rapid procurement and reduced acquisition cycle (measured in days)

Streamlined approach with fewer bureaucratic steps

Directly negotiated best-value pricing

Credit for small business promotion within the agency

Initiate work with a high-level statement of work

Ability to procure both goods and services

Prepare an 8(a) Offer Letter and send it to our SBA District Office contact in Washington, DC: DCOfferLetters@sba.gov

Use the SBA’s approved 8(a) Offer Letter Template (we can provide guidance upon request)

SBA reviews and issues a Letter of Approval (approx. 3 business days)

Agency sends the Request for Proposal (RFP) to MGS

MGS submits the proposal

Agency awards the sole-source contract to MGS

Important: For compliance, the offering letter from the agency to the SBA cannot be sent to MGS directly, as it contains the Independent Government Estimate (IGE) dollar amount.
